About Dr. Daniella Jones

What is a psychological evaluation?

Psychological testing is a comprehensive process used to better understand an individual’s cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning. Through a combination of standardized assessments, interviews, behavioral observations, and collateral information, testing helps clarify diagnoses, identify areas of strength and challenge, and guide treatment planning or educational interventions.

Dr. Danniella’s approach to testing

Dr. Danniella’s approach to psychological assessment is integrative, collaborative, and culturally responsive. During each evaluation, she carefully combines data from multiple sources including test results, clinical interviews, informant reports, behavioral observations, and relevant history to form a complete and accurate understanding of the individual. She prioritizes cultural sensitivity and contextual awareness, ensuring that findings reflect each person’s unique background, experiences, and environment. The goal is to translate complex data into meaningful insights that support growth, healing, and informed decision-making. Dr. Danniella conducts comprehensive evaluations with both children (5 years+) and adults.

Types of evaluations provided

ADHD Evaluations
ADHD testing assesses attention, focus, impulsivity, and executive functioning. The evaluation includes cognitive and behavioral measures, self- and observer-report questionnaires, and clinical interviews to distinguish ADHD from other concerns such as anxiety or learning difficulties.

Psychoeducational Evaluations
Psychoeducational testing provides a comprehensive understanding of how an individual learns and processes information. It combines cognitive, academic, and socio-emotional measures to identify learning strengths and challenges that may impact school or work performance. Psychoeducational evaluations can identify learning disorders, giftedness, intellectual disabilities, and developmental delays. This type of evaluation is often used to develop personalized learning plans and advocate for educational accommodations.

Socio-Emotional Evaluations
Socio-emotional testing explores an individual’s emotional functioning, mood, interpersonal relationships, and coping skills. This type of assessment can clarify underlying factors contributing to distress, adjustment issues, or behavioral concerns, and guide appropriate therapeutic interventions.

Trauma Evaluations
Trauma assessments help identify the impact of adverse experiences on mood, behavior, and functioning. They integrate clinical interviews, symptom inventories, and observation to understand trauma-related responses such as hypervigilance, avoidance, or emotional dysregulation. The goal is to support trauma-informed care and promote resilience and recovery.
